Enhancements to Improve Device Management for iOS Fake" MAC Address"

Since Apple has changed iOS so that it no longer allows an iDevice’s real MAC address to be known/sent to most applications including VCS – we Vocera Administrators have to deal with an ever increasing number of “fake” iPhone MAC addresses in our Devices list – that are no longer valid. This issue will be compounded if Android implements a similar policy, which is on their roadmap.

Each time the VCS application is reloaded on an iDevice, iOS generates a new “fake” MAC address for that instances of the application. During the the last VCS application upgrade we did the number of Apple devices in the Vocera’s Device list nearly doubled in just a few days.

We currently use Mobile Iron across the enterprise for iPhone and Android device management – and MI does have access to the “actual” MAC address – can we find some method to get that info into Vocera?

Is Vocera planning on getting this issue fixed another way – since the information is available, but just restricted by iOS?
