Currently most adapters have a message timeout setting. If the adapter goes the set amount of time without receiving a message, it will send out a notification. This notification can be emailed to you so that you are aware the adapter hasn't received a message in the set amount of time. I think it would be helpful if another notification was sent the next time the adapter did receive a message. For instance there are times I wake up and over night an adapter will have sent out the alert that it hadn't received a message in so long. At that point, it had been hours. So then I have to immediately log into the server and check and makes sure if a message has been received since then, or if we are in an outage situation. An alert telling me a message has been receiving, after a timeout, would be a quick way to notify a user that their system is still operating as expected.
