Once a user becomes familiar with the system, there is no need for the verbose Genie instructions which become repetitive and time consuming. It would be helpful if there was a command to give the user an option for abbreviated instructions. For example, saying “use abbreviated prompts” provides the following example behaviors:
 
Record Message for So-and-So
“Okay, I’ll record a message for So-and-So. Speak at the tone and press the call button when finished.” Becomes “Recording a message for So-and-So”
“Should I send that message” becomes “Send Message?”
 
Delete Messages
“Are you sure you want to delete all your messages” becomes “Delete all Messages?”
“Okay I’ve deleted your voice messages” becomes “messages deleted” or “Done”
 
Messages
“You have one new message from So-and-So, today at 12:35pm” becomes “you have new messages”
